Come learn to swim at the Foley Pool!

City of Foley Plans to Open Swimming Pool for 2024 Season

Weekday lessons 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.

Lessons run 10 days during session weeks; 8 days of lessons are needed to meet Red Cross requirements. The extra two days are for possible weather cancellations. Please plan on attending all 10 days.

Lesson sign up will run for two weeks. Sign up will then continue in person at the Pool House beginning in June during open pool hours and will continue based on lesson availability.

Please note:

  • No refunds will be given on swimming lessons.
  • If you sign up for one class and you need to change classes, we will do our best to accommodate the change based on availability.
  • If a class is canceled due to not enough sign ups and another class time is not available, in this instance we will issue a refund.
  • The Foley Pool only accepts cash or checks.

Attention Parents:

  • P1 students must be 3-years old by June 1.
  • P2 students must be 4-years old by June 1.
  • Level 1 students must be 5-years old by June 1.

2024 Cost:
25-minute class – $41 (Preschool 1 & 2 or Parent/Child Class)
50-minute class – $82 (Level 1 and Higher)

Swimming Course Descriptions

Parent and Child Aquatics (6-months to 24-months): provides experiences and activities for children to:

  • Learn to ask for permission before enter the water
  • Learn how to enter and exit the water ina safe manner
  • Feel comfortable in the water
  • Explore submerging to the mouth, nose and eyes, and fully submerging

Preschool 1 (3 years old): Orients children to the aquatic environment without parents and helps them gain basic aquatic skills. P1 students must be 3-years old by June 1.

  • Enter water using ramp, steps or side
  • Exit water using ladder, steps or side
  • Blow bubbles through mouth and nose
  • Submerge mouth, nose and eyes

Preschool 2 (4 years old): Help children gain greater independence in their skills and develop more comfort in and around water. Getting them ready to enter Learn to Swim Level 1. P2 students must be 4-years old by June 1.

  • Enter water by stepping in from a deck or low height
  • Exit water by using ladder, steps or side
  • Bobbing
  • Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects
